In this video, I show the important steps to watch out for to make a travel journal. These handmade art journals do not require making numbers of signatures or involve any sewing or binding. The accordian folded pages connect at the back of the cover and back cover, so that they open out, attached like a long journal or canvas; but can also be turned as separate pages.
The one thing I learned by making these is that my enthusiasm for many pages usually makes for an awkward sort of opening the ‘can of worms’ gag that jumps out at the viewer. It’s best to keep the length at 1 yard long or max. 42″, and instead make a number of them for your artwork.
For those who don’t wish to diy, I have a link to an gorgeous Strathmore watercolor travel journal that would also be suitable for most acrylics, collage, and mixed-media on my Art Supplies blog, here:

I am updating this blog in hopes to provide links and information about all the art supplies I use in my videos. If you’d like to see a product tested, before you invest, leave me a comment, here, or contact me on the blog.
